What you need to provide
When you apply to the Movement Fund, we’ll ask you for some information about your organisation.
The application form will ask for contact details of two different people from your organisation. One of the contacts should be someone involved in the project.
The second contact should be a senior member of your organisation who will be accountable for any funding received. These two contacts cannot be related or living at the same address.
The application form will ask you to confirm the legal name of your organisation, the type of organisation and its address.
You'll also be asked to provide any relevant registration numbers, such as a charity or company number.
What else will you need to provide?
Alongside the application, we'll require some supporting information. In the form you'll be asked to upload:
- your organisation’s governing document, such as your constitution;
- your organisation’s most recent financial accounts;
- if you’re a recently formed organisation, we will require your last three months’ bank statements and financial forecast to cover your first two years of operation;
- a bank statement dated in the last three months from your organisation’s account that confirms the account name, account details and covers a transaction period of at least 28 days.
Please note: the organisation name on these documents must match your organisation’s legal name used in the application.
What will we do with this information?
We have a responsibility to safeguard public funds, so we will use this information to undertake governance and risk checks; for example:
- we will review your organisation’s details and governing document to confirm you meet the requirements set out on our Who can apply? page
- we will check your organisation is operating in accordance with your governing document
- we will review your financial statements to support our understanding of the capability of your organisation delivering the project and to safeguard public funds
- we will complete media checks on your project contacts and organisation
- we will review your organisation’s funding history with us and other grant makers via GrantNav: 360 Giving
- we will review your organisation’s digital footprint to understand your track record and the likelihood of you delivering your project successfully.
We will not be able to support your application if, in completing these checks, we identify risks that may result in a loss of public funds or have a detrimental effect on our reputation as a distributor of public money or as a government-sponsored body.
If we are unsure, we will contact you to confirm and request further information if appropriate.
