When we talk about sport and physical activity, we mean any casual or organised participation activities that aim to express or improve people’s physical fitness and mental wellbeing, form social relationships, or achieve results in competition.
We're not picky or elitist, our resources aren't for certain organisations, they're aimed at any club or community organisation delivering activities that get people moving.
Some organisations will have sport and physical activity as their only focus and others will use them as a way of achieving wider outcomes such as:
- improving and managing people’s physical or mental health
- building a stronger, more inclusive, and integrated society for everyone
- connecting and reconnecting people and communities
- supporting individual development, learning and skills
- engaging people in volunteering opportunities
- developing the economy.
Providing opportunities for people and communities who’ve traditionally been left behind, and helping to remove barriers to activity, has never been more important.
This is why we aim to reach the widest possible audience.
We know that every club and community organisation is unique, so we work hard to develop flexible resources that can be tailored to meet individual circumstances.
There’s a large number of people whose jobs are to support clubs and community organisations and the volunteers that run them.
They’re paid to do this.
We refer to these people as the professional workforce and our resources are also designed to help them in their everyday work with the clubs, community organisations and volunteers they work with.
Whatever sports or physical activities you’re engaged with, you’re welcome to join our network and use our resources.
