Section 4: Planning permission and asset design

If part of your Community Asset Transfer involves the development of a new or redevelopment of existing asset, you’ll need to carefully consider the various stages that a project will go through before your take on the ownership or management.

Depending on the scale and kind of development involved, a construction process can take several years to plan, develop, and implement; however, a small-scale refurbishment of an existing facility can be much quicker.

This section considers the initial stages of asset development that you’ll need to plan for, seek advice on and possibly secure additional support for.
