The event, which you can sign up for here, will outline our plans for the next decade and is the result of extensive consultation with the sport and physical activity sector.

Also due to speak on the day are parkrun’s chief operating officer Tom Williams, Fiona Bull of the World Health Organisation, Paralympic athlete Sarah Storey and Minister for Sport Nigel Huddlestone.

Our new strategy seeks to help the people and organisations delivering sport and physical activity to recover from the challenges posed by coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic to look beyond them and tackle the biggest issues of the next decade.

We know opportunities to get involved and reap the rewards of being active currently depend too much on your background, your gender, your bank balance and your postcode.

These inequalities have been exacerbated by the pandemic and we’re determined to go further than ever to solve these problems during the next 10 years.
