Assess and accelerate your sustainability maturity

The scaffolding for your environmental sustainability journey.

Introduction

Whether you're just starting out on your environmental sustainability journey or you’ve been on it for a while, take a look at our new tool to review and guide your progress.

It's a simple grid with suggested actions you can take at each stage of your journey.

It's intended to be adaptable to organisations of all sizes and types, and proportionate to your sphere of influence and available resource.

It’s okay to currently be at the first stage of your journey – this tool can help you make progress identifying actions that are relevant to your starting point and ambition level.

Some themes and actions will be more relevant than others and not all possible actions are described. Use it to find a ‘best fit’ and for thinking about next steps.

We'll continue to improve this resource as our system matures and in response to any feedback we receive. For instance, we intend to include a section on actions we could take to adapt and build resilience to a changing climate – something we all need to prepare for.

And we'll provide a repository of worked examples of the tool, including Sport England’s own assessment.

We’d love to work together on refining the tool to be as useful as possible for you. For the next three months, to encourage uptake, we’re offering calls with our environmental sustainability team to review your maturity and what it means for your next steps.

Please let us know if this would be helpful for you. Have a look at the tool and contact us to share any thoughts and ideas or set up a call.

Examples of what each stage means are included under the title:
