We're looking to gauge interest from organisations interested in developing and implementing work targeted around young people in education (from five years old) for the next three academic years (2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20).
Through this investment, we anticipate funding organisations who can deliver projects or support work that has reach at either at a national level, or across a large area of England, to ensure that we have the biggest impact against our outcomes. This could be more local organisations, who with some investment, could scale up their work. If you are a smaller organisation, but still feel you can address the criteria, please feel free to apply.
We do not anticipate funding individual establishments through this investment.
We are investing up to £3 million per year on work focused on schools, colleges and universities as well as work that aims to keep young people active through key transitions in their lives.
We want our investment to ensure that more children are better equipped for a physically active future.
We know that if children and young people have positive, enjoyable experiences of sport and physical activity and develop good foundations in the motivation, confidence and competence to take part, the likelihood they will continue is increased.
Expressions of interest
This call for expressions of interest sets out the work areas that we believe are essential in helping to increase the number of young people in education who are active, and have a positive attitude to sport and physical activity.
The first document below outlines the process, delivery, timescales and assessment criteria, and the second document contains an expressions of interest form you can submit to us.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 3pm on Friday 24 February 2017.
