CEO recognised in Birthday Honours

Our chief executive, Jennie Price, has been awarded a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list

16th June 2017

For the past 10 years, Jennie has headed our work to protect, nurture and develop community sport.

This honour is a recognition of not only her personal success, but also the importance of sport and activity in the life and health of millions of people across the country.

THIS GIRL CAN

Among her major achievements, Jennie has led our approach as an insight-driven organisation putting people that do sport and activity at the heart of what we do.

This approach came to life with This Girl Can – our groundbreaking campaign that Jennie has led from the very start.

Since the campaign launched, 2.6 million more women are getting active in England.

The campaign, which features phenomenal women who sweat and jiggle as they exercise, has won over 50 national and international awards, and was named the best health campaign in the world in 2015.

LASTING LEGACY

Jennie has also steered our contribution to the legacy of London 2012. This work has resulted in over 1.5 million more people exercising regularly, as well as providing the incredible facilities now used daily by people of all backgrounds and sporting abilities.

We're proud to recognise and celebrate Jennie's personal achievement – and look forward to her continuing to lead the organisation as we work towards an active nation.
