As part of an ongoing review of the role of the South Yorkshire Sports Partnership, and to improve the effectiveness of the delivery system for sport in the region, stakeholders who share a passion for the development of sport are being invited to South Yorkshire Sports’ first stakeholder day created to allow key components of the delivery system for sport in South Yorkshire to help define the new strategic targets and outcomes for the County Sports Partnership (CSP).
Within the single delivery system for sport, CSP’s play a significant and vital role in linking the development of sport nationally and regionally with the identified needs and aspirations of sport delivered at a local level. CSP’s exist to provide strategic leadership and support to a number of community sports networks (CSN). These networks are structured to improve local opportunities and accessibility to sport.
The stakeholder day creates a unique opportunity for all key bodies and organisations who are involved in the development of sport, to come together to share thoughts and experiences of what currently works and what does not. At the end of the Stakeholder Day, it is envisaged that there will be wide recognition of the challenges we all face to improve sporting opportunities in the region and an acceptance of the new strategic role of the CSP in leading and implementing a new three year vision – describing what, in sporting terms, South Yorkshire will look like by 2010.
In the meantime, all South Yorkshire sporting organisations and individuals are being encouraged to visit the South Yorkshire Sport website and give their views on the proposals so far by filling in our on-line questionnaire. You can do this at the following address:
