Developing people in sport
People are a vital resource in our aim to make England an active and successful sporting nation, here you can find information on courses and coaching schemes. The latest news on this page is on the "Community sports coaches scheme phase 3".

New websites and pages developed for target audiences
The following independent websites have been developed:

Active People: It contains information about the objectives of the survey that started in October 2005. It has answers to frequently asked questions about the survey from the general public and other stakeholders such as local authorities.

Active Places: The database accessed on the website includes information on a wide range of sports facilities – from sports halls to ski slopes, swimming pools to health and fitness. It includes local authority leisure facilities as well as commercial and club sites.

Promoting Sport Toolkit - the toolkit is a collection of simple-to-use tools to help you promote sport more easily, effectively and cheaply. You can access sports images, useful 'how to' guide, find out about sporting events that you can use to attract people into sport and much, much more.


New specialist pages on our main website
Comprehensive performance assessment (CPA) - CPA is the performance management framework used by the Audit Commission and central Government, to measure local authority performance and drive improvement in the sector. Sport England provides information to support local authorities in respect of the culture block on these pages.

Equity and inclusion:-  Making information on sports equity accessible to our partners. Two new sections added to this in January 2006 are:

Planning for sport: It brings together best practice, policy advice, basic information and key guidelines on sport provision, including what type of sports facilities will be needed and where by communities in the future.  The website will also advise how best to protect and improve the current stock of facilities, including playing fields.
