‘Wild Trails’ Initiative Exeter, South West England

Our partnership believes that the South West has the potential to become the finest region in England for its range and quality of off-road cycling experience. Significant benefits to the rural economy and environment would also result from taking a strategic and sustainable approach in developing this activity further.

However there is a great deal to do. If you are excited by the challenge of co-ordinating the delivery of our vision and have directly relevant past experience and skills, then we want to hear from you.

This is a four year fixed term appointment based in Exeter, the host employer will be the Forestry Commission with comprehensive support from the CTC, the UK’s national cyclists organisation.

In addition to these two organisations, executive partners also include: Sport England, South West Tourism, South West Protected Landscapes Forum, British Cycling, International Mountain Bike Association (UK) and the private forestry sector.

Some weekend working and travel will be necessary as an essential part of the role.

To obtain an application pack and further information contact the Forestry Commission on email at recruitment@forestry.gsi.gov.uk, via our website at www.forestry.gov.uk/vacancies or alternatively write to

Shireen West, HR Services, 231 Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh EH12 7AT.
