   Indicator: Percentage of people who feel that their local area is a place where people from different backgrounds get on well together:

Outcome: Demonstrate effective community leadership through increasing the level of community engagement and participation in volunteering activities (LPSA2)
   Indicator: Number of people (aged 16 or over) who undertake formal volunteering in groups, clubs or organisations for an average of 100 hours per 12 month period (an average of 2 hours per week)

Commitment to: traditional activities that are sport or physical activity based, as well as offering palatable alternatives to physical activities, to the many people who have never engaged in formal or informal activities.

Outcome: Improving levels of physical activity – current initiatives to promote physical activity within Reading are aimed at improving participation in a wide range of activity and sport programmes in a range of different settings including communities, schools and workplaces and involving people of all ages
   Indicator (STRETCH): Increase percentage of adults participating in at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity sport and physical activity on 3 or more days a week on average over a year

   Indicator: Increase take-up of membership at all SCLL leisure sites in Slough year on year
   Indicator: Increase participation in cultural activity (as measured by 3 x 30 physical activity, library visits, visits to parks & enrolment in CATS training)
   Indicator: Number of participants in led healthy walks throughout the year

Outcome: Increasing opportunity for young people to engage in high-quality sport, cultural, leisure and volunteering activity, reducing the risk of disaffection and disengagement from mainstream services

Outcome: The physical and mental health of young people is improved by increased participation in sporting, artistic and creative activity
   Indicator: The percentage of 5 – 16 year olds participating in a minimum of 2 hours per week of high quality PE and School Sports.

Outcome: Vulnerable young people are supported in accessing universal leisure opportunities.
   Indicator: Take up of cultural and sporting opportunities among over 16 year olds.

Outcome: Young people themselves are encouraged to undertake training as organisers, instructors, and coaches and to work as volunteers within their own community.
   Indicator: Number of young people volunteering in culture and sport
   Indicator: Increase the number of young people undertaking training to act as volunteers in the organisation of leisure time activities within their own communities.
   Indicator: Increase in numbers of young people achieving recognised accredited certificates for skills based activities eg Sports Leader Awards, First  Aid Certificates, Food Hygiene
   Indicator: Increase the number of voluntary and community organisations (i.e. sports clubs, music societies, drama groups etc) who make specific provision for participation by young people.

Indicator: Percentage of 5 – 16 yrs engaged in 2 hours a week minimum of high quality PE and school sport within and beyond the curriculum

Objective: The use of culture, leisure and sport to achieve priorities around health, community safety (through diversion), social cohesion and community involvement and is a main area for voluntary work

Objective: maintaining the engagement and contribution of all older people in the local community, including increasing the amount of physical activity they undertake.
   Indicator: Increase the number of older people (65-75) who make use of local council fitness facilities
   Indicator: More people take up local leisure services and achieve recommended levels of physical activity
   Indicator: Halt the rise in obesity amongst children aged under 10 years (proxy measure of healthy eating and physical activity)
