Here is the supporting information:

2....SPORT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AREAS (‘SPAAs’) and LOCAL AREA AGREEMENTS

As we get increasing clarity about how the new SPAAs will be resourced, the expectation of funding represents a good opportunity for affected local authorities to negotiate sport related targets in their Local Area Agreements.  A note on how to advocate for this is available here (pdf 38Kb)

A list of targets (not just for culture) is contained in Annex D of the ODPM guidance on LAAs, which can be found at http://www.odpm.gov.uk/index.asp?id=1161635

A national Sport England ‘Briefing Note’ on how targets relating to sport and physical activity can be included in LAAs can be found here (pdf 1,107Kb).

3....'SPORT PLAYING ITS PART’

The hyperlink to ‘Sport Playing its Part’, the advocacy document for sport as a whole, can be found at http://www.sportengland.org/index/news_and_media/news_gs/sport_playing_its_part.htm

4....‘TOWARDS AN EXCELLENT SERVICE’

Martyn Allison at the IDeA has prepared a TAES workbook for the whole of a cultural service, not just sport and active recreation. This can be found here (pdf 375Kb)

There are a range of resources available on the Sport England website to assist in the TAES process at http://www.sportengland.org/taes

5....AUDIT COMMISSION – ‘THE HARDER TEST’

Copies of ‘The Harder Test’ – the Audit Commission’s framework for CPA for single tier local authorities - can be found on the Audit Commission website at http://www.audit-commission.gov.uk/Products/NATIONAL-REPORT/7F3A448D-E88D-4b67-B8A4-61EEF6C093FB/CPATheHarderTest14Oct05REP.pdf
