Sport University North East England
A report undertaken by The KSA Partnership on behalf of the Universities of the North East Sports Committee, One NorthEast and Sport England in 2005 to provide an understanding of the present contribution of university sport to the regional economic and social agendas, alongside the regional and national sport related agendas, a clear direction for university sport in working towards meeting national and regional needs across a wide range of agendas in conjunction with key partners and an awareness and understanding of the issues, sensitivities and barriers that will need to be addressed in order to move forward, and options for overcoming them through individual and collaborative action.

Taking Part: The National Survey of Culture Leisure and Sport
Taking Part is a continuous national survey in England undertaken by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport between 2005 and 2008. It enables measurement of the Public Service Agreement (PSA) target 3. Results of the Survey are released on a quarterly basis.

Health, Activity and Enterprise
A report commissioned by One NorthEast, in consortium with the British Heart Foundation and Trends Business Research,  produced by Shared Intelligence in 2006. It covers the opportunities for enterprise, job creation and skills development in the sport and physical activity market, identifies the potential for new forms of services and development of existing services that could bring health benefits to the region, and suggests specific interventions that could be taken and commissioning of new NHS services in the region.

Rural Sports Tourism
One NorthEast, in partnership with Sport England and with the support of North East Sport and the Countryside Agency asked Locum Destination Consulting to look specifically at the issues underpinning the growth and development of Rural Sports Tourism, in 2006. The purpose of the report was to provide information on the underlying economics of rural sport tourism to the stakeholders involved in regional tourism, sports development, and the rural environment.

Time Out – Young People’s Culture and Leisure Survey
This research was commissioned by InfoNet, the research and intelligence arm of Northumberland County Council, and Northumberland Strategic Partnership on behalf of a wider partnership including Northumberland Sport, all six District Councils, the Regional Arts Council and the Museums Service. The survey was carried out by Information by Design in 2006. The main purposes of the research were to measure the levels of sports and cultural participation of young people aged 9-16 years, in general and at local authority level, and to identify frustrated demand, and barriers to participation, highlighted by young people.

North East Drugs Interventions Programme Sports Initiative
This report outlines the findings of an initiative primarily aimed at using sport to increase drug users engagement with drug treatment, to improve their health and the quality of their lives and to re-integrate them back into the community, whilst accessing its resources. It highlights the benefits of engaging drug misusers in regular sporting activities.
