SPORTS LEARNERS AWARDS
Nominate your adult learners for a London Regional Adult Learners’ Award
The 5 Pro-Active Partnerships for London are sponsoring the first sports award for Adult Learners’ Week which takes place from the 19th-25th May 2007.
If you know of any adult (age 16+) who has made great progress in any type of sports related learning or accreditation and should be nominated for a regional award, don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate their achievement.
This could include coaching, mentoring, sports development, facility management, officiating, leadership, volunteering – in fact anything with a sports learning theme.
We know that sport can be a real hook to attract people back into learning, especially those that previously underachieved in more traditional education settings or faced specific circumstances that inhibited their progress. If you know of someone who has overcome personal obstacles and made significant progress in learning why not nominate them for a sport’s award.
Nominations from learning providers, the workplace and from other organisations will be entered for the London Regional Awards, with a high profile Award Ceremony taking place at the V&A Museum during Adult Learners’ Week in on 22nd May.
Forms can be downloaded or ordered from www.alw.org.uk, You can also nominate online using this link: http://www.niace.org.uk/alw/nominations/default.htm The forms need to be completed by the person nominating an adult learner, and the learner themselves.
The deadline for the Regional Award nomination is the 23rd February 2007.
Don’t just sit there thinking how great your learners are! Nominate them for a Regional Award to recognise their achievements!
