GLOSSARY
National policy for sport is focused on three principal documents: Game Plan produced by Sport England’s sponsoring department (Department of Culture Media and Sport) and the related National Framework for Sport which is Sport England’s interpretation of how Game Plan is to be translated into action through planning and other means. These two documents provide the context for regional plans for sport which give ‘local colour’ to the national overview. The key planning document at national level is PPG17. This is the reference point for the development of planning policy at regional, sub-regional and local levels.
