Introduction

The Equality Action Plan for London

Introduction

Sport England London Region have established a Pan London Equality Group, made up of key stakeholders in the sector, to provide strategic leadership, co-ordination and advocacy for equality in sport within the capital.

The purpose of the group is founded on the principles of increasing participation and widening access to sport and physical activity, tackling discrimination and mitigating actual and likely diverse impacts and barriers experienced by London’s diverse BME community, women, young and older people, disabled people, people from different faith groups, the capital’s lesbian and gay population and those people on low incomes.

The groups’ vision is to have an active and successful sport and physical activity environment in the capital free of discrimination and open to all our diverse communities and equality target groups.
