Introduction
Clubmark was introduced in 2002 by Sport England to

Ensure that accrediting partners apply core common criteria to ensure that consistent good practice and minimum operating standards are delivered through all club development and accreditation schemes.
To empower parent(s)/carer(s) when choosing a club for their children.
To ensure that Clubmark accredited clubs are recognised through a common approach to branding.
To provide a focus around which all organisations involved in sport can come together to support good practice in sports clubs working with children and young people.

National Governing Bodies accredit clubs that comply with minimum operating standards in four areas:

The playing or participation programme
Duty of care and child protection
Sports equity and ethics
Club management

	Clubmark reaches the equestrian world Two clubs, both affiliated to British Equestrian Federation member bodies, have achieved their goal of Sport England Clubmark accreditation. Grove House Stables, a British Horse Society approved riding centre, near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire and Nottingham Horseball Club are the first two equestrian clubs to receive the accreditation. 	Vale Judo Club first for Silver Clubmark The British Judo Association has presented Vale Judo Club, based in Oakham, Rutland with the Silver Clubmark Award. The club was the first judo club located in the region to gain the bronze award and has again been the first club in the region to gain the Silver award. The club is now working towards gaining the Gold Clubmark award. More info
	Local clubs achieve Swim 21 accreditation Seven swimming clubs in the region have recently achieved Swim 21 accrediation, the Amateur Swimming Association's Clubmark recognised scheme. The successful clubs are: Arnold SC Worksop Dolphins SC Deepings SC Kimberley SC Horncastle Otters SC Retford SC Wellingborough Amateur SC
