County sports partnerships

County sports partnerships bring together local
authorities, national, governing bodies, schools and School Sport
Partnerships, primary care trusts and other agencies involved with
increasing participation in sport and physical activity. They are
co-ordinated by the CSP Network.

What are county sports partnerships?
There are 49 CSPs covering England. They are local
networks of:
- Local authorities
- National governing bodies
- Clubs
- Schools and School Sport Partnerships
- Primary care trusts
And other local agencies committed to working together to
increase participation in sport and physical activity.
They are led by a central team of people whose job it is to
provide leadership and co-ordination of the
network.

How does Sport England work with
CSPs?
Sport England invests in CSPs to deliver services for
national governing bodies, to support our work with local
government and with children
and young people, and to deliver on our key legacy programmes
Sportivate
and Sport
Makers.

This document has been slightly updated for 2012-13. It
outlines the services that CSPs will provide to national
governing bodies and Sport England. This is a consistent
contractual agreement between Sport England and all 49 CSPs in
England.

This has been updated for 2012-13to reflect the changes to the
Core Specification. It is a document to help partners
and stakeholders fully understand the services that CSPs will
provide for governing bodies and Sport England through the core
offer. Sport England and the CSP Network worked together to
create this to provide a little more detail to ensure clarity of
understanding around the core offer.
