County sports partnerships

What are county sports partnerships?

There are 49 county sports partnerships covering England. They are local networks of:

• Local authorities
• National governing bodies
• Clubs
• Schools and School Sport Partnerships
• Primary care trusts

And other local agencies committed to working together to increase participation in sport and physical activity.

They are led by a central team of people whose job it is to provide leadership and co-ordination of the network.

How does Sport England work with CSPs

Sport England invests in CSPs to deliver services for national governing bodies, to support our work with local government and with children and young people, and to deliver on our key legacy programmes Sportivate and Sport Makers.

CSP engagement with NGBs

Sport England and the CSP Network continue to work together to ensure that the engagement process for NGB/CSP working rolls out effectively.

This document has been updated for 2011-12 to reflect changes in the local and sporting landscapes.  It outlines the services that county sports partnerships will provide to national governing bodies and Sport England. This is a consistent contractual agreement between Sport England and all 49 CSPs in England.

This has been updated for 2011-12  to reflect the changes to the Core Specification.   It is a document to help partners and stakeholders fully understand the services that CSPs will provide for governing bodies and Sport England through the core offer. Sport England and CSPN worked together to create this to provide a little more detail to ensure clarity of understanding around the core offer.
