The South West Plan for Sport is about creating a vision for sport in the South West and how people can be given the best opportunity to start, stay and succeed in sport and activity. Our challenge is to create a 1% year on year increase in moderate activity levels, leading to 50% of the South West population being physically active by 2020.
Consultation The production of the Regional Plan for Sport was a 10 month journey which culminated in the formal launch on 25 March 2004. During this period a large number of consultation events took place with over 1000 attendees. All strategic partners in the region we given the opportunity to engage with the process.
What does it say? The regional plan has four strategic themes: Delivering Community sport, Embracing Active Living, Influencing Strategic Planning and Raising Sports Profile.
