Active Swindon
The focus of this project is to increase participation in physical activity amongst residents of Swindon, Shrivenham and parts of North Wiltshire.
Sport England’s support and funding has allowed for key members of staff to be employed, including: a co-ordinator, a finance and support officer, a marketing and communications officer, a development officer for vulnerable people, a development officer for workplaces and a development officer responsible for family-based learning. Their task is to roll-out new physical activity programmes, promote health, set up a 'one stop shop website' and develop the Community Sports Network in Swindon.

WAYS – Wiltshire Alternative Youth Service
Over the last 18 months, more than 1000 young people, aged 11-19, have benefited from the WAYS project. WAYS works across the County to support young people interested in developing opportunities locally for alternative sports enthusiasts and those new to alternative sports.

West Wiltshire District School Sports Partnerships Tag-Rugby Festival
A good practice case for clubs - school links. 32 schools attended district tag-rugby festivals in March 2007, with more than 300 girls and boys attending. Crockerton Primary, a small rural school, won a string of district festivals, including the Wiltshire Youth Games and on top of this, earned the right to play an exhibition match in front of 50,000 fans during half-time of the Powergen Cup Final at Twickenham.

St Edmund’s Girls’ School
This Alternative School Day initiative provides over 100 different out-of-school-hours clubs for young people and members of the community each week, and participation is high. Over 50% of the clubs are sport /physical activity based and the majority of pupils at St. Edmund’s participate in over 4 hours of high quality PE and sport per week.

Holt MUGA
Whereas the village originally had an underused recreational field, it now has a community-led and community-based MUGA consisting of a tennis court, netball court, basketball court and football pitch.
