Making a difference for local people

Local Strategic Partnerships and Community Strategies

In March 2006, Sport England South commissioned consultants to identify the current situation in the region regarding the extent to which sport and physical activity targets/outcomes are included in community strategies and provide guidance on how local sport and physical activity representatives are able to influence local strategic partnerships (LSP) and community strategies in the future.

Local Areas Agreement Guidance

Sport England has prepared this updated briefing pack to support the future development of Local Areas Agreements (LAAs) by demonstrating the positive role sport can play in the delivery of local outcomes. This pack has been developed as a result of a review Sport England carried out of the first two phases of LAAs. By drawing on the learning and experience of the existing LAAs, this briefing pack offers practical advice, support and technical information on outcomes, indicators and stretch targets to help ensure those involved in drawing up 3rd Round LAAs at a sub-regional and local level, maximise the part sport can play in making a real difference to peoples lives.
