Sport England facility helps young _rower make the Olympics

15 May 2008

Amy Grieve, 16 year old junior rowing captain from Runcorn Rowing Club in Cheshire, will be going to the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games. She learnt in May 2008 that she has been selected as one of only four Young Sports Ambassadors chosen to represent England at the Games. Amy was selected for this once in a lifetime opportunity from more than 1,000 young people after giving a presentation to Games officials in London.

Clubmark accredited Runcorn Rowing Club received £145,954 from Sport England from 2003 to improve its venue. The new facilities include a new boat store and improved access to the river.
