  • Regular training site for British team members in 3 disciplines.
  • Regular squad training sessions.
  • One of the most important training sites in GB.

The site is important because of its scarcity or uniqueness value and because it cannot be re-created at a different location.

  • Purpose-built water ski arena for tournament competitions and training, plus three other areas, including cable tow.
  • Impossible to replicate or replace.

Heritage
A heritiage site is one which has been used continually or a for a long time by that sport and which cannot be recreated in a different location.

  • Created in early 1970's, one of the earliest purpose-built sites in GB.
  • Considered by some to be the best competitiion site in the world.

Non-competitive users

  • All levels of training, including beginner and novice.
  • Cable tow is very important for this level.

Number of users
The site is important because of the numbers of people using it from any level of that sport

  • 120 boat members per season plus 80 "pay and play" users per day in peak summer season week end and 40 per week day.
  • Cable - 50 members; plus "pay and play"  - 300 on peak week ends/180 on week days.

Facilities strategy
The site has been identified as of international or national importance in that sport’s strategic planning documents.

  • BWSF - National Water Ski-ing Facilities Strategy - community access, performance and talent development site.

Physical characteristics
Identification of those characteristics, which if lost, would jeopardise the quality of the site.

  • International standard (International Water Ski Federation) for cable tow and tournament.
  • Ex gravel pit, split into sections for each discipline.
