Community Gymnastics Coach
Gedling Borough Council in partnership with the Wheldon Specialist Sports College are looking to recruit a small team of Community Sports Coaches to take a lead in delivering the Long Term Athlete Development agenda in Gedling Borough.
Leisure Services Ref:L26 Community Gymnastics Coach Band 7 £20,295 - £21,654 Ref: L26 3 Year Fixed Term Contract. (Job Share will be considered)
This exciting and challenging new post will be looking to maximise the physical literacy of children in Gedling by providing gymnastics input at the FUNdamental and learning to train stages of long term athletic development process for children of Gedling Borough Council residents. This will achieved by working in three defined areas involving educational, sporting clubs and gymnastic sessions/club developments.
You will take a leading role in the implementation of long-term athletic development for children of Gedling across education, local authority and voluntary sectors. You will also make quality coaching in gymnastics available together with widening the competency of teachers, voluntary coaches and instructors.
The post holder should ideally hold a current British Gymnastics level 2 (club coach) qualification, they should have coaching experience (delivering, mentoring and session & programme planning) in various settings to a wide range of abilities and will have knowledge of LTAD particularly FUNdamentals and the implications for coaching. Experience of engaging with a wide range of different sporting clubs/groups would also be advantageous.

Part Time Community Athletics/SAQ Coach Ref: L30 Part Time Community Athletics/SAQ Coach Band 5 £2,637. - £2,833 6 hrs Per Week. 3 Year Fixed Term Contract.
Minimum qualification: UKA Level 2 Athletics Coach and willing to become qualified in SAQ to at least ‘P’ Level.
The Coach will work with Club Coaches and their teams/athletes in a variety of sports – principally in the first instance Football, Cricket, Rugby Union – in order to enhance those Club Coaches’ ability to deliver the full range of Physical Literacy training – Agility, Balance, Co-Ordination, Speed, Kinaesthesia, - to pre-growth-spurt children as part of their regular Coaching.
The Coach will assist with delivery at normal Club training sessions; so the work will almost all be in late afternoon to late evening on weekdays, and at weekends.
The Coach will work as a team with a Sports Development Unit which has forged excellent partnership links with its local voluntary sector sports clubs, and with the Gedling School Sport Co-ordinator partnership.
