I have a criminal record. Will this stop me from volunteering?

No, having a criminal conviction won’t necessarily stop you from volunteering. However, depending on your offences, you might not be able to volunteer in certain roles. If you’re working with children or vulnerable adults you will need a Disclosure and Barring Service check. It’s up to the club to carry out an assessment of the role and determine whether these checks are necessary.
