I have been injured while volunteering. What should I do?

Your organisation or event has certain responsibilities to make sure the environment you volunteer in is safe and should have insurance that will cover accidents that may happen while volunteering.  It should also have procedures in place on how to deal with accidents, which should have been explained to you during your induction.

If you’ve been injured while volunteering, you should let your volunteer manager know. If you don’t have a volunteer manager (or they’re not around) you should inform someone else at the club, preferably the person responsible for health and safety.
