Yes, if you have a health condition or disability it’s important that your club or group knows about it. The club is responsible for providing a safe environment in which people aren’t subject to unnecessary risks. They need to know about health issues/disabilities so they can put in place any extra safety measures to provide a safe environment for you. It’s also important in case you fall ill while volunteering or have an accident and need first aid or medical attention. Any personal information you pass on about yourself as a volunteer is covered by the Data Protection Act and your club must store it securely and use it appropriately.
