I have a disability. Can I volunteer?

Yes, absolutely. Having a physical or learning disability shouldn’t stop you from volunteering. The benefits of volunteering for disabled people are the same as to other volunteers. Volunteering can help to boost your confidence and improve your social skills and employability - 90% of disabled people feel happier, more confident and gain new skills from volunteering.

Volunteering might be a bit more challenging for people with a disability because some people lack education and awareness about disabilities and how disabled people can be supported. However, these challenges shouldn’t stop anyone volunteering, and clubs are required to make reasonable adjustments to enable you to get involved.
