Youngsters get chance to stick _oar in at Salford Quays

Agecroft Rowing Club at Salford Quays gave youngsters in the area the chance to try their hand at the Olympic sport on Sunday 14th September.

Agecroft RC, which is home to Beijing Olympic finalist, 22-year old Olivia Whitlam, is Sport England Clubmark accredited, has GB ‘world class start’ coaches and is the most successful senior club in the North West

Level 2 qualified rowing coach Jacky Czarnodolski said: “Rowing is a great sport, but it’s not one that most people get to try at school so we have been offering young people the chance to have a go here at Agecroft Rowing Club
“We have all types of people rowing here, young and old, from Olympians such as Olivia right through to veterans and the junior squad.”

The two taster sessions were run at the £1million state-of-the-art Sport England-funded boathouse at the Quays (near the Lowry Designer Outlet).
