Empowering YOU to improve the quality of coaching within your organisation
After a very successful pilot programme last year, we have taken into account feedback received and developed this NEW and improved programme . We have added a few new sessions, as well as adapting the session content of some of the others. So even if you attended some of the sessions last year there will be something new for you this year.
The workshops start on the 18th May, and run through until the 4th December. Workshops will be held here at LSBU and in Leyton (East London).

HOW TO DEVELOP AN ACTION PLAN FOR COACHING:
The aim of this workshop is to demonstrate how you can develop an action plan to improve the quality of coaching within your organisation.
MANAGING COACHING WITHIN LONG TERM ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT (LTAD):
LTAD principles aid governing bodies and other coaching deliverers to ensure that all participants have the opportunity to reach their full potential. The aim of this workshop is to understand Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) and its implications for coaching development within your organisation.
WHAT IS QUALITY COACHING?
This practical workshop will explore what a quality coach is and show you how you can develop the next generation of quality coaches within your organisation. It will help you to:
Recognise quality coaching
Gain an understanding of the coaching model
Identify some of the key aspects of coaching craft knowledge
RECRUITING SPORTS COACHES:
The aim of this workshop is to highlight the importance of recruitment in coach management. Central to this is the recruitment of coaches with the appropriate skills, knowledge and attributes to meet the needs of the player/athlete pathway. This workshop will highlight good practice in these areas and help you to plan your recruitment effectively.
EMPLOYING SPORTS COACHES:
The aim of this workshop is to inform and educate those who employ and deploy coaches, whether paid or voluntary, on the legalities involved in the process. It will highlight the importance of coach management, identify employment and deployment issues, inform on the management and deployment of volunteers and aid the development of your action plan.
MANAGING MENTORS:
This workshop is designed to raise your awareness of how to effectively manage mentors. It will give you the opportunity to share good practice with others and pick up new ideas. Areas covered include:
·Planning and monitoring the effectiveness of the mentoring process
·The necessary roles, skills & attributes of a mentor
·Identify the key concepts around matching mentor and mentee
·Effective relationship development
·Conflict management.
DEVELOPING COACHES:
The aim of this workshop is to provide you with the knowledge and tools to develop your coaches through an effective training needs analysis, the identification of different coach education opportunities and by supporting them to develop and implement an effective coach action plan.
