PRO-ACTIVE South London Board Recruitment

Pro-Active South London Partnership is part of the national network of County Sports Partnerships. We are looking for dynamic Board members to drive and develop strategic sport and physical activity opportunities across the sub-region.

Role of Individual Board Members

Board Members actively promote sport and physical activity across South London using both their high level networks and expertise. Sound judgment is central to the Board member’s role.  The objectivity and fresh perspective acquired through their relative distance from day to day matters, combined with top level experience acquired elsewhere, is the basis for challenging the accepted thinking of P-ASL and encouraging ever stronger partnership performance.

The main responsibilities of the Board include:

•Developing Strategy - Board members should actively and constructively contribute to and challenge the development of strategy

•Governance - Ensuring that the board operates within the limits of its delegated authority.  

•Decision Making - Monitoring & evaluating performance against agreed strategic objectives and targets and ensuring risk is managed appropriately.

•Championing and leading on specific areas of work linked to our six strategic themes. We are seeking skills in parks and open space, planning, diversity and equality, commercial and business expertise, legal and financial matters.

•Promote P-ASL, improve the sub regional networks and help the Board reach sound decisions.
