Sport England South West has spent several years working with its 7 counties and unitaries to build strong and effective sports partnerships that are independent, well-resourced and focused on achieving results. Increasingly, the partnerships are looking towards fulfilling a wide brief, less programme-centered and more holistic in their approach to sports development.
As the key deliverers for sport in their area they will be able to meet local needs which also reflect national and regional priorities, and the individual role of each County Sports Partnership is still to be locally determined. However all are aiming to support on the ground delivery of the national governing body Whole Sport /One Stop Plans within each county, and to provide the necessary building blocks for coaches, volunteers and clubs to develop and flourish.
