Background Information

The Active People Survey is the largest ever survey of sport and active recreation in Europe. 363,724 adults in England were surveyed by telephone between October 2005 and October 2006 by Ipsos MORI on behalf of Sport England. A minimum of 1,000 interviews were completed in each Local Authority in England, evenly spread over the course of the year to ensure no seasonal variations.
