UK Equality Seminar

Free places are still available for the UK Equality Standard Seminar that takes place in Belfast on 4 December 2008. The seminar is run by by the Sports Councils Equality group whose members include Sport England, Sport Scotland, Sport Northern Ireland and the Sports Council for Wales.

The theme of this year's event is From Learning to Action. It is an excellent opportunity for governing bodies and sports organisations to work towards the Equality Standard to learn and share best practice and also to gain a greater undertanding of equality in sport.

The day will be an interactive mix of:

  • Presentations from leading experts
  • Workshops on the levels of the Equality Standard – learning from governing bodies who will share their own experiences and achievements
  • Workshops on sports council research on disability, sexual orientation and black and ethnic minority groups in sport
  • Keynote speaker – Michaela Breeze will be sharing experiences as an experienced Olympian in a male dominated sport
  • Networking with governing bodies, sports organisations and experts in equality.

To register for this FREE event – please complete the booking form, which can be found in the latest additions section on the Equality Standard Website Homepage and return this to Gayle Logan at Sport Northern Ireland – email: gaylelogan@sportni.net.
