Driving up participation: the challenge for sport 2004  



The research
This research seeks to commission a number of topics for strategic review the outcomes of which will contribute towards and help shape the strategic priorities for sport in England.  The focus of the reviews will be on sport in a changing social, political and economic environment. The strategic reviews will be expected to:

  • Draw on the existing evidence to make a coherent argument in support of specific recommendations on strategic priorities and the design of appropriate interventions
  • Where appropriate challenge conventional wisdom and current policies and practices to provide new perspectives
  • Identify the key stakeholders and partners involved and their roles in delivering the recommendations that emerge from the review to ensure that they are grounded in reality
  • Where appropriate draw on relevant international experience
