Sustainable Community Sports  Hubs Toolkit

It is not enough for community sports hubs to offer first-class facilities and world class talent development. They have to be sustainable. This means reducing the financial obligations - the annual subsidies, maintenance and sport development - they place on local authorities to an absolute minimum.

Sport England believes this can be achieved by using various income streams - commercial and other - to create a 'dowry' which ensures the long-term financial stability of the sports hub

The Sustainable Community Sports Hub Toolkit explores the drivers and characteristics such a sports hub will have, as well as its potential benefits and risks. We will be updating this toolkit regularly to capture current industry views as to what a sports hub might look like, how it might operate as well as highlighting where they already exist.
