Typically Councils find that, for sport and cultural services, the following issues tend to be identified as needing to be addressed prior to inspection.
- Links to be identified between sport/cultural services and the corporate agenda
- Links to be identified between sport and the wider community agenda, including contributions to the LSP, relations with other councils
- Links to be identified between sports services and the national agenda, together with clarity of contribution to partnership arrangements with health, schools, crime and disorder etc
- The need to complete ongoing work e.g. marketing strategies
- Resolution of departmental perceptions around value and contribution of sport and cultural services to the general activity of the council.
- Identification of supplementary evidence to support self assessment e.g. Quest, TAES, EFQM assessments, benchmarking results
- Evidence of community consultation
- Evidence of clarity of outcomes / legitimacy for the service in terms of corporate and community ambitions
