Sports centre improvements bring increased use
The upgrading of facilities at the Fakenham Sports Centre is helping Sport England achieve its target of increasing participation in sport by 1% a year over the next 15 years.
Since the improved centre was opened in September 2004 over 24,000 visitors have taken advantage of its five-court sports hall, fitness suite, multi-use games area, small and large ATP, clubroom and creche.
The project was carried out with the help of a £1.5m investment of Lottery funds from Sport England whose objectives were to improve existing facilities and provide the local community with wide access to sports and leisure opportunities.
