East Anglian Sports Park  


Sport bonanza in East Anglia

More than 43 sports are catered for at the East Anglian Sports Park which can adapt to accommodate any size of sporting event.

National, regional, county as well as local meetings are regularly staged at the Park which was developed with the aid of a £14.5m grant of Lottery funding from Sport England.

The sport and leisure facilities, which are easily accessible to the local community, include a superb hall with 12 badminton courts, a 50m training pool, climbing wall, five squash courts, fitness centre, aerobics and dance studio, committee rooms and offices, as well as a dedicated martial arts room.

There is plenty of seating for spectators and, with ample meeting rooms, the sports park has offered 199 sports courses since it was opened three years ago.

  • 80% of users come from the local community
  • Over 1.2 million people a year use the sports park helping Sport England towards its target of increasing participation by 1% a year up to 2020
  • The facility created 40 new jobs
  • There are over 30 coaches operating at this facility
  • The ‘Fitness in Later Life’ programme provides regular activity for the over 50 age group
  • British under 17 and under 20 championships have been held at the facility
  • The sports park is open between 5.30am and 11.00 pm every day
