Active Colleges

One of the key points when a lot of young people stop playing sport is when they leave school to either move on to college or work. We want to encourage teenagers to keep playing sport and therefore we are investing into a lot of colleges across the country.

Active Colleges is our £25 million National Lottery fund which aims to help more college students play sport. This is split into College Sport Makers and the FE Activation Fund.

You can find out more about Active Colleges on our further education pages.

Through Active Colleges funding, Sport England currently invests in 247 sixth form and FE colleges and 10 NATSPEC colleges across England to increase participation amongst FE students.

There are no further Active Colleges funding rounds planned
