Joint Core Strategies
North Northamptonshire
The North Northamptonshire Joint Planning
Committee (and its supporting technical unit) covers the
Wellingborough, Corby, East Northants and Kettering
areas.
A Joint LDF Core Strategy was approved in
2008, covering development of over 52,000 homes to 2021. It
contains a policy on developer contributions. The LDF is now
being rolled forward to 2031 and beyond.
A joint SPD on developer contributions is
being drafted, and a Planning Infrastructure Group has been created
to develop infrastructure schedules to back the SPD. A
Strategic Sports Facilities study has recently been completed.
The North Northants Development Company is an
urban regeneration company and local delivery vehicle co-ordinating
the delivery of the necessary infrastructure to support growth.
