Design guidance notes
We continue to seek to provide generic best practice design
advice and requirements for building types and sporting activities
covering a range of sports through our Facilities and Planning
Centre of Excellence.
We work hard with the industry, partners and National Governing
Bodies of Sport to ensure information is current, innovation is
considered and trends followed. We spend a considerable amount of
time, effort and money to ensure our guidance is available to
interested parties and to promote facilities being designed and
constructed to a high standard and accessible for all.
Within these
DGN
s are
specific sports,
FAQ
s and Quarterly Newsletters.
These are all free to download.
The Newsletters give updates and alerts on specific issues
relating to sports facility design. The
FAQ
documents seek to provide
answers to common questions received via our online enquiry
service.
Through this section of the website you will also find links to
National Governing Bodies, Multi Use Games Areas (
MUGA
) standards, previous Case
Studies, Building Schools for the Future (
BSF
) and other useful
sporting organisations…
Over the coming twelve months we shall be updating many of the
existing
DGN
s under our
programme for renewal and welcome positive contributions by
consultants, contractors, specialists and other organisations.
We do not provide an individual tailored design service but
offer support through the
DGN
s and supporting information.
