Accessible sports facilities

This guidance covers accessible sports facilities.

It will help designers, building owners and operators meet design and operational obligations under: The Disability & Equality Act 2010; BS 8300: 2009 Design of buildings and their approaches to meet the needs of disabled people – Code of practice; Building Regulations Approved Document M: 2004 Access to and use of buildings and Sport England’s requirements.

Accessible sports facilities design guide 2010

Formerly known as Access for Disabled People this updated guidance was first published in 2010 and conveys current requirements for accessible sports facilities under the above mentioned standards and regulations.

Accessible sports facilities CAD drawings 2011

AutoCAD (2004 DWG format) downloadable plan drawing layouts of accessible changing facilities are available in relation to diagrams 16 to 20 and 22 to 25 in the accessible sports facilities design guidance note. In addition, Adobe Reader (pdf) versions of the CAD drawings are also available to download.
