A host of Test stars are set to turn out at a floodlit cricket match in a Leicestershire village in aid of the tsunami appeal. A World XI will take on a Leicestershire XI at the Illston-on-the-Hill ground of Everards Leicestershire League side Illston Abey on Sunday24th April.
The game will start at 3.30 and will be over 40 overs a side with the second innings played under the floodlights.
Former West Indies skipper Jimmy Adams, Alvin Kallicharran, Gladstone Small and Aravinda de Silva are among those due to be in action alongside ex-Leicestershire stars Chris Lewis and Tim Boon. Some of the current Grace Road squad are also expected to play, plus star names from the Everards League.
Current Sri Lanka Test stars Muttiah Muralitharan and Sanath Jayasuriya are also due to attend the match, which will also be the scene of a dinner in a marquee where former Lancashire and India wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer will be the speaker.
Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for children and £25 for the executive package, which includes admission to the ground and a three-course meal in the marquee.
