Stars of the sports world were out in force at the this year's BBC East Midlands Sports Awards. More than 200 guests, including scores of top East Midlands sporting personalities, were present at the glittering ceremony supported by Sport England East Midlands and East Midlands Development Agency.
Taking centre stage at the event was Darren Maddy, vice captain of Leicestershire County Cricket Club, who was voted by viewers and listeners in the region as BBC East Midlands sports personality of the year.
World famous ice dancer Jayne Torvill was there to accept the illustrious lifetime achievement award and the BBC unsung hero of the year award went to Jean Lawrence, Newark Rugby Club.

Lincolnshire's award winners
Lincoln Vulcans Swimming Club landed three awards, including coach of the year for Graham Bassi. Lincoln City captain Paul Morgan won footballer of the year and Chris Wilkinson from Boston won young sportsman of the year, making it a memorable night for the county.
Stephen De Wint, Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Sports Partnership said
"I am absolutely thrilled that the sporting talent that exists in Lincolnshire is starting to come to the fore. There are some great sporting stories across the county and there is excellence in many of the things that we do in sport. It is great to have that recognised at an event like the BBC Regional Sports Awards and thanks must go to our partners at BBC Radio Lincolnshire for all their support in this process."
