Community Investment Fund
The East Midlands Regional Sports Board’s allocation was increased to just over £18m during the financial year 2005/06. £7m of this arose from the distribution of nationally held funding to further develop the Delivery System for Sport in the region. A further £4m was allocated on the understanding that the Regional Sports Board would deliver a number of targets for talent development and building more capacity within the Delivery System for Sport.
Throughout these changes the Regional Sports Board has maintained the integrity of its original priorities identified within Change 4 Sport. At the same time the region has forged ahead in creating 5 fit for purpose County Sports Partnerships and in turn the development of Community Sports Networks has also established strategies, systems and processes to enable the assessment of projects seeking Lottery funding.

Active England
Active England was a one off joint programme between Sport England and the Big Lottery Fund, with two specific aims:
•to create and support sustainable innovative multi-activity environments in areas of social, sport and health deprivation.
•to increase participation in sport and physical activity among all the sections of society, but particularly those sections which are typically under-represented in sport and physical activity participation.
The Regional Sports Board has distributed £8.6million to 36 projects, contributing to a total investment of £17.7million across the region for the programme overall. Over 75% of these projects are now fully operational and all will be submitting monitoring data electronically following support from an external consultancy.
