Ongoing developments with local projects and regional partners is giving sport and active recreation a role in involving local communities in the process of regeneration and renewal.

Key highlights
•Regeneration East Midlands hosts a community sport post to provide support to the Sport and Community Inclusion Network.
•Advocacy in Local Area Agreements in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire and Nottingham City ensures physical activity is included in future delivery plans. The advocacy includes the production of the document, Changing Lives.
•A Sports Regeneration Manager is appointed for the Corby Sport Regeneration Partnership, which will be the basis for the local Community Sport Network.
•Braunstone Sport Action Zone received national recognition at the annual Sport England colleague conference and received a visit from the Sports Minister Richard Caborn.
