Olympic medallist visits region
Olympic Gold medallist Jonathan Edwards has visited the region to witness activities to maximise the benefits from the 2012 Games. His visit included the launch of the Derbyshire Plan for the 2012 Games and Castle Rock High School in Coalville to see school sports competition.

Somewhere in Lincolnshire there could be a potential Olympic athlete and Geoff Capes, former British & Commonwealth record holder, has set down a challenge to find someone who can shot put 20mtrs 12 cms, a distance that would guarantee a place in the 2012 Olympic Final.
