Special Olympics web site goes live
The Special Olympics will be held in Leicester between the 25th and 31st July 2009. Over 2,700 athletes will visit the city along with 1200 coaches and 1500 volunteers. To capture activity the Special Olympics web site has gone live.

Researching youth football
The Institute of Youth Sport is hosting the national Researching Youth Football conference at Loughborough University, supported by the FA. The conference on 17 September offers the football community access to the most up-to-date research on young people and football.

Push your pedals for protection
The British Heart Foundation is organising three sponsored autumn cycling challenges in the region that cater for all ages and abilities. The events are the Dark Peak Challenge Bike Ride on 12 October and the Robin Hood Challenge and Scramble events on 2 November.
