The regional plan for sport - a retrospective view - 2004-2008

Reporting on the progress against targets in the regional plan for sport
November 2005 to March 2007
A decision was made to re-align the reporting process for the plan in line with our business planning cycle and so we have published our latest report 'Counting on action' in March 2007.
You will read in the report that there have been many changes that have affected sport and our work with partners since the launch of the plan way back in October 2004. There will also be a refreshing of the 'Framework for sport in England' and this will be replicated across the nine regions of Sport England with the production of a refreshed regional plan for sport in April 2008 in each case.
The production of the review in electronic versions, including a DDA compliant 14 word only document on a CD disc, is a new venture for us. We consider we have provided a high quality document using this format, especially with the interactive features for all web links. The CDROM has been distributed to key regional level partners and our county sport partnerships have been supplied with copies for their sub regional level partners.
All other users are requested to download the report via the links below please:

Regional conference 2006
'Counting on action' was aslo the title for our annual conference held in December 2006 - please view the post event press release.

First Year reporting November 2004 to November 2005
In October 2004 we launched the regional plan. Last November we looked at how the aims and objectives set for the first year of the plan had been met. A review document ‘Moving Forward’, which provides an overview of the progress, has been presented to all regional contacts. Together with a companion document, produced in pdf only, that reports on all the outcomes scheduled for November 2004 to November 2005, we provided a review of known outcomes for this period. At the annual conference that took place on 18 November, and through the reporting mechanisms we put in place, we obtained even more information on the progress that has been made region wide. This more complete picture will be presented in a post conference progress report in early spring 2006.

Please view all the information from the annual conference held on 18 November (including all the presentations that were given).

Providing a summary to our plan
We are pleased to announce that a summary to the plan is now available. To complement this summary we have produced the aims contained within the plan in annual action tables, which we have presented as a pdf only.
A further document, contacts information, which is incorporated within the summary, and is also made available as a separate pdf, has been produced, which we hope you will find helpful. This gives the details of our board members and Sport England West Midlands staff, including all email and telephone details.
